As a business owner, receiving compliments from others around you that your branding & logo is looking flawless is one of the best things you can hear (other than the sound of cash hitting your bank). This is especially true for a start up business! As a designer with a creative mind and a constant need to be challenged graphically & technically, it’s an exciting feeling to start working with a new client who has a sturdy business idea but nothing in the way of marketing material. To see and be able to produce something from the ground up whilst playing an important role in making that idea into a buck generating machine is something pretty extraordinary!
Habita is a provider of fully serviced short-term and self catering apartments in Plymouth and the South West. They provide a bespoke and personable service to each guest or group that they accommodate to ensure that each of their guests stay is hassle-free and enjoyable!
The apartments are ultra modern, high end, luxuriously fitted and furnished. Whether guests are travelling for business or pleasure, Habita’s apartments are well-situated within Plymouth to ensure easy access to the key surrounding areas such as Plymouth city centre and Cornwall.
Owner of Habita, Tania wanted us to target mainly ‘Corporate Accommodation’ for businesses looking to house their employees in Plymouth. Secondary to this, she was looking to target holiday makers and weekend lets.
For the branding, Tania’s ideas included light browns, neutral colours and cursive writing for a high end look. To give us more to work on, Tania also stated that she liked the idea of a black, white and gold colour scheme to stand out against the other neutral colours. We were also asked to include something that was property related like a house icon which needed to be attractive and approachable.
This is what our design team came up with….

“As a graphic designer, it’s so fun to help make a clients vision come to life! The process you go through from initial ideas to a finished logo can sometimes be a challenge, but that’s what makes it so interesting! Once a logo is in place, the rest of the marketing material that follows naturally, creating a well established brand ready to show off their services.” Libbi Chapple, Designer at Âme Social.

Every aspect that goes into your brand identity, from your logo, to your name, your website, and even your communication strategies is important. Ensure that when you build the brand identity, you do so with full knowledge of your competitors, customers and where you want to go in the future!
